What is the Card Verification functionality?

Card Verification allows merchants to verify a customer's card without charging it.

The verification is performed using a zero-amount payment request, helping confirm that the card can be used for future payments.

This can be especially useful for recurring payment scenarios, where a merchant may verify a card now and collect payment at a later date.

Currently, only the following card schemes are supported:

• Visa

• Mastercard

• Maestro

• Diners Club

• Discover

#➥ Are Card Verification transactions charged?

Yes. A fixed fee is charged to the merchant for each Card Verification attempt (in the applicable local currency).

Fees are aggregated and billed as a single charge on the following day. Visit the Viva.com Pricing page. Select Online payments, then find Card Verification (with Zero Amount) under Other Fees.
